Camozzi speaking with MMA Junkie:
"According to the UFC the issue is less about my performance (they offered to give me a recommendation) and more to do with an overloaded roster and not enough fights for us under contract," Camozzi wrote. "This has nothing to do with the recent merger."

not sure how this is possible other than Dana doesn’t want to get Brock smashed. 1-3 in the ufc with only win against tim hague..and hes been ko’d/tko’d in all his fights.

And for some reason he decided to stand and bang vs Mark Hunt even though when he had him to the ground he almost finished the fight, and Hunt is terrible on the ground.

Decided nothing he had no choice in the matter. Did you not see him try for the shot the whole fight but Hunt stuffed it every time.

Easy, there’s a distinct lack of HW’s in the UFC, and there’s too many guys in LHW, MW, WW and LW in the UFC. BW and FW are still very thin.

It has nothing to do with the merger, it has to do with an overloaded roster, which they are correcting by adding more fighters, which is the stated reason of the merger.

Makes sense.

As I said on the fanshot version of this: I don’t like it when the UFC cuts guys who have winning records in the organization. I mean, I know some UFC wins aren’t appreciably better than wins you might be able to get in lower-level organizations, but I wish they’d at least pretend otherwise.

Branch deserved another chance, and Camozzi definitely should not have been cut

I’m wondering if this will be the beginnings of guys sliding over to Strikeforce. They’re quality fighters and would provide some much needed depth.

Camozzi yes, I don't know about Branch.

And Branch has been in 3 really bad fights in terms of entertainment.

I’ve got no problems with any of these cuts.

Camozzi needs experience, and if the UFC is having trouble keeping him active, he is better off fighting in MFC or someplace like that every four or five times a year than he is fighting in the UFC twice a year. He’ll be back.
