UFC Showing UFC 116's Brock Lesnar vs Shane Carwin Free on Facebook

(Photo by Jon Kopaloff/Zffa LLC/Zuffa LLC via Getty Images)

As part of their aggressive social media marketing strategy, the UFC is making UFC 116's classic heavyweight championship bout between Brock Lesnar and Shane Carwin free to fans on Facebook. Watch the fight here.

This is a thank you to fans for giving their UFC Facebook page 5 million "Likes".

Shane Carwin brought an undefeated 12-0 record into the cage against Brock Lesnar, finishing all of his fights in the first round, most by KO or TKO. Carwin had won the interim UFC heavyweight championship by beating Frank Mir at UFC 111.

Lesnar came into the cage as the UFC heavyweight champion with a 4-1 record. He hadn't fought since UFC 100 almost 360 days prior due to enduring emergency surgery for an intestinal condition.

Expectations were sky high going into this battle of the behemoths and it did not disappoint. If you haven't seen it, here's your chance.

Watch the fight here.

This is just the 2nd round right?

Cause the first round was obviously a fluke.

The better question is: Why the heck would you complain about something that is free?

You’re right… I didn’t see he was responding directly to the last line of the article. My bad.

Go to facebook and you will see all of the people bitching and whining about it. A bunch of spoiled a-holes. After all, they pushed the “like” button: such a monumental effort.

From reading the comments below the video on Facebook it seems they might be reaching some new consumers and bringing in more fans. Good move by the UFC with this.

Just BE.

Man I am sad that Bus Rutten debunked the idea of Shane Carwin

entering the StrikeForce heavyweight tournament. That’s just sad.

Let's be fair, Nate

The fight disappointed some.
