Why do they keep saying Jones is the youngest champ in UFC history? Did everyone forget Vitor Belfort?

i thought he just won the HW tournament
not a title.
The days as champ are done... but the juggernaut known as Brock Lesnar will return.
Vitor didn't win the UFC belt until 2004
He was 26 when he beat Couture for the title.

yes vitor was the youngest
and i think machida is a much better matchup against jones
The Jon Jones era has begun
I don’t see anyone who can stop him.

Easy now. I agree he looks like an unstoppable beat but anytime someone gets an era named after them after an impressive fight shit hits the fan quick.
The Rogan curse....

He should change his name to Jon “Orbital Bones” Jones.

Shogun looks like he fell down a mountain
and landed on his face all the way down.

Rampage would lose. Lyoto would lose. The only person I see having a shot, if all fighters including Jones fight up to potential in the matchups, is Phil Davis possibly. Thiago Silva is too slow, although he’s big.
Jones would wreck Thiago
Has anyone noticed Silva has 0 wins against the top 10?

Yeah I think Thiago would just be meat to the tigers. I’d like to see Lyoto and Anderson each take a crack at Jon. I put their chances at 35 percent though.

I was just saying how he took the fight on semi short notice and won
it was just a comparison… my bad

was the final coffin nail in a series of coffin nails

Thanks for the gif.
I really don’t see anyone beating this guy at LHW. Supah fights please ! (or HW in a few title defenses).
Damn that huge elbow that missed would have felled an ox.

You know Bas Rutten geeked out when that body shot put Shogun back down.

Was rooting for Shogun
Was surprised to see him get eviscerated like that, I will never doubt his toughness.
He seemed tired after the first round, especially after the first takedown and gnp assault, the spinning back arm-fist-elbow, the knee kicks….just fuck
Shogun has the heart of a champ and he showed it even in defeat.
Bones is the real fucking deal and the new champ

Shogun looked worse than Lyoto when he knocked him out last year...so hard to watch Shogun like that.
Take note fighters, you need some sort of game plan before comign into a fight with bones.
Planning to fight him everywhere is not valid.
Take note fans, you need a brain to interpret post fight comments from a drained at TKOd fighter suffering the crushing reality of defeat.
Wow! Jones was being very, very humble pre-fight.
That was a powerful statement and a rightful claim to the throne. He not only exploited Shogun as an amateur athlete in his world, but the UFC LHW division as a whole. Three years of training wouldn’t grant me and my run of the mill physique that invulnerable presence inside any ring. Let alone with the champion of the arguably “most stacked” division in combat sports.
Imagine John Wall (NBA Rookie of the Year), 6’4 with a 101 inch long powerful limbs and lightning fast in the middle weight division…untouchable…Lebron James at 6’8 and 250 lbs., jumping 15ft into the air, lifting 300 lbs over his head in the HW division…unstoppable…In our bloody dreams, and hopefully in Dana’s pocketbook down the road.
Elite athletes need to GTFIn. That was impressive shutting down a Muy Thai Expert and BJJ Black Belt warrior like Shogun, and on short notice. It really, despite Shoguns wear and tear, wasn’t simply old breed takes on new breed.
Much respect to Shogun, I’ll always be a fan. What could he do? That was Pro vs Joe. As in, me and my highschool basketball team vs ’93 Bulls and Jordan.
