It seems like he's punching to look crisp
instead of punching to land crisp.

That said, I hope he sticks with it.
We could always use another HW to feed to the elite’s like Reem and Werdum.

The real test is going to be if/when he uses this striking in the cage. It’s easy to look good in training, but the actual MMA fight is when a fighter has to really put it together. Seeing most of Lashley’s fights, he barely stands with his opponents despite the fact that he fights low-level journeymen.

Never understood the hate..
Yes those guys might be “low-level journeymen” but the fact is they still had MUCH more experience than Lashley. The guy doesn’t even have 10 fights yet and people hate on him for fighting what they say are “cans” or guys with 6 – 1 records. They seem to put Lashely at a high level instead of looking at it realistically.
He’s has I think like 6 or 7 fights? He’s doing the right things with his career, no real he should be fighting the Reems of the world, so I never understood the hate for the fights he’s taken, most those guys had equal or MUCH MORE experience than him and all he got was hate for it.
It’s ridiculous.
Here's the breakdown of his record
Joshua Franklin – Fresh out of the box
Jason Guida – A bum and there’s no other way to describe him
Mike Cook – A journeyman but the fights outcome was highly suspicious and to many looked like a work
Bob Sapp – Fighter that is far past his prime and only looking for a paycheck
Wes Sims – An journeyman that was never really all that great and hasn’t had real training in years
Chad Griggs – A puffed up LHW that put a stomping on him.
Most of the hate is Pro Wrestling related. The online MMA community has an unnatural hatreds to any and all this Pro Wrestling. He got more hate when he started calling out Fedor when he hadn’t fought anything that smelled like mid-level competition.

People want to bitch about how he has no fights and he’s doing the right things for his career. If you want to go that route, then let him fight his cans on the undercard, because I don’t want to see such low level competition on the main card.

If he wants to swim in the shallow end of the pool, fine.
But don’t claim that you can swim in the deep end if you’re still rocking Water Wings.

He shouldn't have been asking for Fedor & Reem
But I don’t blame him for fighting beatable guys. He’s a neophyte prospect. And Griggs, who he was doing quite well against prior to gassing (I know, no excuse for that), acquitted himself very well against Villante.

My problem with Lashley is that he approaches his fights the same way. He really forces takedowns and then doesn’t pick his shots when he does ground n pound, and gasses himself out. Lashley is hardly fighting people that are that much better than him despite their experience, and these low-level journeymen are the types of fighters that he should be putting his game together against. As he keeps winning, he’s eventually going to fight someone good, and seeing that he hardly does any standup or any other types of takedowns or any different approach to his game, so it’s just counter-productive to his growth.
