UFC 128 Results: Luiz Cane Smashes Eliot Marshall

The UFC got another brutal bout for the Spike TV preliminaries when Brazilian southpaw Luiz Cane battered Eliot Marshal, a short-notice substitute for Karlos Vermola.

Cane stopped Marshal with punches on the ground at of the first round. Cane hurt Marshall standing then followed him down. Marshal gamely defended himself long enough to take a sustained beating before the referee was forced to step in and save him.

This win will re-establish Cane as at least a particularly dangerous gate-keeper in the UFC's 205 pound light heavyweight division. Marshal, who had been cut by the UFC after going 3-1, may or may not be back.
