Kurt Pellegrino (16-5, 7-4 UFC) takes on Gleison Tibau (21-7, 7-4 UFC) at UFC 128. The bout will be featured on the Facebook streamed portion of the card.

How do these guys stack up?

Pellegrino: 31 years old, 5'8", 71.5" reach
Tibau: 27 years old, 5'10", 72" reach

What have they done lately?

Pellegrino: L George Sotiropoulos (DEC), W Fabricio Camoes (SUB), W Josh Neer (DEC)
Tibau: L Jim Miller (DEC), W Caol Uno (TKO), W Josh Neer (DEC)

How did these guys get here?

Both of these men have had long careers and fought several times in the UFC bringing identical 7-4 records during their time in the UFC. They are both also coming off losses in their last trips to the Octagon.

Pellegrino made his pro debut with a win over Mac Danzig in 2002 and went on to win eight of his first nine bouts before debuting in the UFC at UFC 61, losing to Drew Fickett. Pellegrino has used his underrated striking and dangerous submission game to defeat Thiago Tavares and Josh Neer. Many of the times that Pellegrino has stepped up in competition, against men like Joe Stevenson, Nate Diaz and George Sotiropoulos, he has suffered losses.

Tibau is a master of cutting weight. He is one of the largest lightweight fighters in the world and his size has served him well throughout his career. Gleison is almost a mirror image of Pellegrino. He was successful early in his career before entering the UFC and losing his first Octagon fight. He has lost against higher level opposition but defeated some decent competition.

Why should you care?

It's an interesting stylistic fight that puts two very similar career paths in the cage in a division that is overloaded and seeing fighters cut after every event.
