Jerry Millen: rat deserting a sinking ship or just a standard rat?
Former M-1 Global employee Gary "Jerry" Millen has been a bit busy on twitter lately and has been saying some interesting things. Statements including M-1 Global being 15 million in debt and Fedor's percentage of the company being a sham set up to keep him with the company. Obviously anything Millen says should be taken with a huge grain of salt and it's quite possible that it's just sour grapes from a former employee towards their employer but I do have to wonder at the timing of his statements. A week after the UFC won the MMA organization wars Millen decides to throw M-1 Global under the bus in a random tweet.....

You made a typo in your headline; that should read Gary Millen.

1 disagreement.
Said that UFC won the MMA organization wars. There wasn’t ever a war UFC has always been the top promotion. Where strikeforce was successful is that they managed to snag a few fighters who really belonged in the UFC.

The organization wars go back several years and involved several competing organizations. The UFC hasn’t always been the top promotion, it wasn’t that long ago when Pride was the big bad wolf of MMA and the UFC was the plucky underdog (and Jerry-Gary worked for Pride originally). It wasn’t the UFC vs Strikeforce, Strikeforce just happened to be the last tier one company left that even had a shot at competing with them.
On a more serious note, it wouldn’t surprise me if what he said about M1 was true, but I wouldn’t be using him as a source on the subject. He admits on his twitter that he has “unfinished business” with people in the organization, so everything he says should be taken with a grain of salt.
This is the internet though, so everything someone "important’ says will be analyzed and argued to death, since people for some reason think that Gary is still important, maybe this will cause people to look at the issue and get to the truth.
