Bad Boy Presents Bloody Elbow Radio - UFC Buys Strikeforce, Miesha Tate, Zac George

Bloody Elbow Radio, presented by Bad Boy, was live Tuesday afternoon to discuss all the latest in mixed martial arts. Matt Bishop and Forrest Lynn were joined by Zak Woods to further discuss the UFC buying Strikeforce and all the implications of that, plus we also took a look at the developing situation involving Jon Jones and Rashad Evans and more.
We were joined at the top of the show by female MMA star Miesha Tate. Tate, a top contender in the Strikeforce women's welterweight division, gave her thoughts on the state of women's MMA and how it should be picked up by the UFC when the time comes, plus she told us who she'd like to fight and answered reader questions.

She also talked about her excitement about Strikeforce adding elbows to the head of a downed opponent:
It's really exciting news for me because I really can't think of any other person in my division that's going to benefit from it more than I will, to be honest. I think, in Strikeforce right now, that's pretty much icing on the cake for me. I think it's going to work out beautifully. It makes me a little more excited for my fight with Marloes whenever that does come about. It'll be interesting to see how that works to my benefit.
Then we were joined by Bellator featherweight tournament competitor Zac George. George, who fights Wilson Reis this Saturday at Bellator 37, told us about his long layoff, his quest to get into the first Bellator featherweight tournament and his experience with American Sign Language.
He also talked about whether he thought Bellator's featherweight division could be competitive with the UFC's.
"Without a doubt. Look at the guys in this tournament. Every guy in this tournament is a nightmare matchup for UFC's champion. Does it mean they'll beat him 10 times out of 10? No. But look at Jose Aldo. He's the best guy at 45 universally. Well, the guys that are going to beat him are going to be some one-punch wonder or a guy that can take him down and grind on him and a well-rounded fighter that can beat him in multiple areas. That's what you got in all eight of the guys in this tournament."
Bloody Elbow Radio returns to the air at 4 p.m. ET Thursday with UFC 128 fighter Eddie Wineland, plus we'll preview the entire UFC 128 card from top to bottom. Bishop and Lynn will be joined by Mike Fagan to break down the card.
Don't forget, Bloody Elbow Radio is sponsored by Bad Boy. Well I think so too, but overall I think he has a point that the better Bellator 145 guys probably could do well in the UFC. But like he also mentioned we really don’t know, and with how young the division is there’s still lots of questions surrounding the rankings and what not.

I’m very interested to see how ground elbows works out for women’s MMA. How will people react to seeing a female fighter wearing the crimson mask?
I suspect a lot of people will be disgusted the first time we see a Stevenson-Edwards type of bloodbath.
Listened to the show earlier, good and entertaining like always, great interviews with especially Tate but also George. Actually most of your interview so far have been very good Matt, good job and keep it up!

Oh and it was nice to learn that Tate seemed pretty smart and level-headed, you’re always worried the pretty girls are going to be stupid but I was not put off by that interview at all. Awesome!
