On March 5, 2011, BJJ black belt Jorge Gurgel (14-7) scored his first submission victory since 2005. Gurgel has taken quite a bit of criticism in recent years for choosing to stand and trade with his opponents instead of going to where his best strength lies, on the ground.
However, for someone who is used to giving the fans three-round stand-up wars, Gurgel seemed a bit disappointed it only took him 44-seconds to finish the fight.
