According to Dana White in his interview with MMAFighting - "The UFC needs more fighters." Once contracts expire, Zuffa will have the right to negotiate for the UFC and try to acquire Strikeforce's talent. Dana White compared the Strikeforce purchase to "the same thing that happened with PRIDE and the WEC."
