Just wanted to share this with my BE bros- I'm sure there will be a front page post soon, but I thought you guys would want to know. Josh Gross just reported this, here's the link: http://sports.espn.go.com/extra/mma/news/story?id=6172496
Here's a particularly rich quote from Coker: "We just ran out of time," Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker said Tuesday, referring to the second leg of its Heavyeight Tournament quarterfinal round. "I didn't find a venue that we thought would work for everybody, so we decided to move it."
They ran out of time, even though they were the ones who constructed the time line. They refused to play hardball with Barnett to get him to do what needed to be done to get re-instated in California, and are still holding the event in Texas, so it's not like they want to get Barnett credentialed to fight in a more favorable venue (i.e. San Jose, NJ) Can't paint this any other way then calling it an unmitigated disaster for SF. Let the hatery commence, though to be fair, I'm excited to see these fights on any date, but would obviously rather see them sooner rather than later.
edit: they also announced that the April 9th show will be headlined by Melendez vs. Kawajiri and Diaz vs. Daley- 2 awesome fights, that have now been splashed by the shit puddle of the HW cancellation. What a shame...
