You must not appreciate the ambiance the smoke provides

Warning the poster means:
Smoking is bad for your health.
Or just get High for how potentially boring this main event might be.
Just a picture of jake with his hands up looks awkward. He just looks so uncomfortable with his stand up

you can tell Jake and the Diaz boyz hang together.
It is straight hazed in the poster. They have been chiefing.

Agreed
The prelims are kinda bland, ony reaaalllly interesting match up is Diaz/McDonanld. But that fight would be an awesome prelim to show on spike as a lead in.
But the main card is unreal. Two titles fightsn two very relevant LHW fights (that division has been stale for a while IMO) and a fight that could of headlined a decent WEC event.

disagree
Personally I think daniel roberts vs claude patrick is a better fight.
A spike prelim show of Roberts/Patrick and Diaz/McDonald sounds great to me.

you and i are on the same page
people are down on patrick because his last fight was kind of boring but before that he’d submitted like 8 people in a row. ninja roberts is coming off back to back submission of the night candidates (he got robbed when it went to guida at 125 imho, guys on the preliminary card always get shafted).
now sometimes two good grapplers meeting up just means a bad boxing match, but i’m still hoping for a sick grappling superfest.
also remember the preliminary card is stacked with canadians, which is nice for the fans at the event. the ones who aren’t there won’t be watching anyway.
Idk
Of the two, the only notable thing I’ve seen is Roberts getting KO’d by Patrick. McDonanld getting KO’d by Condit was a bit more impressive lol

Why do people always bitch about the posters?
Yes, they’re not very good, but they’re not for us. We know who is fighting and when the fight is happening. The job of the poster is to clearly state who is fighting and when the fight is so when your average Joe Sixpack walks into a bar and they catch a glimpse of the poster they can say to themselves “oh look, GSP is fighting of April 30th”. The whole point is to advertise to the casual fan, not impress the hardcore fan.

Wellyou kinda want to put your best foot forward with someone who has never seen an event before. And putting out an event poster that looks like it was made on Windows 95 isnt doing that very well

I seriously doubt that the appearance of a poster is going to be a deciding factor on wether someone watches a fight or not.

If it was up to me, all UFC posters should look like this

Thank heavens it’s not up to me

Best Worst poster of all time
Penn vs itch a close second for most orange used ,
i couldn't tell if this was an MMA event
or a poster announcing the special guest DJs at Manhole.
If it seems like everyone around you is an asshole, you are probably an asshole.
You mean
tens of thousands or hundreds of thousands. But those same movies have millions upon millions of dollars to spend on marketing materials, and the marketplace is WAY more competitive. People literally have to decide what movies they don’t have time to see.
UFC is a different beast. People want to know WHO and WHEN. That’s exactly how they decide. There is no story or theme or mood that NEEDS to be communicated by the image in the poster. DOODS is FIGHTIN.
If it seems like everyone around you is an asshole, you are probably an asshole.
I think they need to have one dude holding a baby by the leg over the edge of a bridge. And then the other guy totally standing there like “uh uh, don’t you do that”. While in the distance you can see an 18-wheeler crossing the bridge with the co main event dudes fighting on top of it, with the wheels on fire.

I’m surprised to hear anyone say that with so many good fight s on the card. What intrigues you so much about this fight?

Good lord the UFC is trying to get Hamill killed

Not bad design wise
the smoke and etc look is perfectly acceptable. Some people are too critical.
But I would like Aldo vs Hominick to be larger, and how can they not feature the co-co-main event of Couture vs Machida on the poster?
Couture has headlined 2 of his last 3, and was the co-main of his last event…and he won all 3 fights…him vs another former champion in Machida should get some love.

Smoke
The guy who designed this poster was clearly high.
There should be a Canada vs. USA font here or something since almost the entire card is just that.
Fire Gus "What's a screen?" Bradley.
And another thing
You would think that they would have Couture vs. Machida on the poster too.
Fire Gus "What's a screen?" Bradley.
First time Randy Couture hasn’t been on the poster in quite some time.
In the clearing stands a boxer And a fighter by his trade And he carries the reminders Of ev'ry glove that layed him down Or cut him till he cried out In his anger and his shame "I am leaving, I am leaving" But the fighter still remains
No Machida and Couture on the poster? Wow
They be banking on GSP’s star power I see..
"But I was like "I don't know how they do things where you guys are from, but I dont think monogamy is legal in this country."
@anonymousbungi
Yeah, what's up with that?
You’d think they’d be wanting to get whatever they could out of Randy’s semi-stardom. Plus, that fight is going to be something else… It could get ugly for Randy, but I’ve got to root for him. Machida is a bad MOFO, but I want to see Randy go out on a good note.
