After Jon Jones submitted Ryan Bader at UFC 126, UFC president Dana White announced that #1 contender Rashad Evans was injured and welcomed light heavyweight champion Mauricio Rua into the ring with Jones.
The 12-1 (only loss by DQ) Jones will replace Evans against Rua at UFC 128.
Rua has not fought since taking the belt from Lyoto Machida at UFC 114. He had to have knee surgery, his third and will return to action after almost a year off.
