MMA Weekly reports Strikeforce star and former EliteXC 160lb champ K.J. Noons is returning to lightweight after moving up to welterweight for his rematch with Nick Diaz. He hopes to fight on their April 9th card and ultimately challenge Gilbert Melendez for the title before the end of the year.

I blame the problems of this card on Josh Barnett.
Should’ve never signed him to the tournament, especially when he practically said fuck you to the CSAC.
I blame Strikeforce
they knew they had the Barnett issue which means that they needed to book the event in Texas or Missouri — both places they’ve been a couple of times. But they wanted to flirt with doing an event in Japan.

While Barnett is a favorite to win his side of the brackets, I really feel that they should have replaced Barnett and booked Del Rosario to fight Rogers to avoid the issues of booking a venue.
I heard that they want Nick Diaz to fight on this card, but in such short notice, I wonder if they can book him and an opponent. It kind of sucks because Strikeforce looked to be having a great year, and then this happens.

It's obviously because of Japan .....
… They’re desperate to book a show there, but because of the chaotic state at the moment, it’s very difficult (or even more difficult than usual).

Melendez will wrestlefuck Noons to death.
My first novel is now available in trade paperback. Take a look: http://tinyurl.com/2ag7njo
IDK
He has a pretty good sprawl. And the way Noons times shots with knees is a thing of beauty.

Interestingly
No. He was 1/4 lb overweight for the Gurgel fight (which was a LW bout).
I would say he should be able to make the weight, though.

Hmm in otherwords get me out of Daley's way!
I do love watching KJ, totally sweet stand up.
Those punches against Grugel were so beautiful.
I just think Melendez who he aims to eventually face(for strikeforce that means one fight) is a horribe match up for him. Melendez will just blanket him, never letting him back up.
