Lightweights Maciej Jewtuszko (8-0, 1-0 WEC) and Curt Warburton (6-2, 0-1 UFC) will meet on the first undercard fight of UFC 127.

This fight is not scheduled to air on any part of the broadcast although there is a chance it will be added to the PPV card if it is action packed and time allows.

How did these guys get here?

The UFC is always on the lookout for British and Western European talent they can feature on international cards.

The Polish Jewtuszko built up a flashy undefeated record fighting in Poland and Germany before being signed by Zuffa. He made good in his WEC debut by finishing the highly regarded Njokuani and is stepping into the Octagon for the first time. 

The British Warburton put together a 6-1 record on the UK circuit, including a TKO win over Ross Pearson before being called up. Spencer Fisher spoiled his UFC debut at UFC 120.

Why should you care?

Given the UFC's reluctance to cut European fighters the odds of seeing them again are fairly good. Both men prefer stand up striking battles so there's a good chance of exciting action in this bout.
