Shitty deal for Tate, especially this late. She been doing a bunch of media for the fight too.

damn. was hoping to see this live.

not familiar with carmouche. does she stand any chance at all?

by woooburn on Feb 23, 2011 7:06 PM EST reply actions

Well, according to Sherdog, her first fight was less than a year ago, and her opponents to date have a combined record of 10-15.

So I’m going to guess that she doesn’t stand a chance. But I haven’t seen her fights, so maybe she’s some kind of prodigy.

Liz is a gamer but she doesn’t really have a great chance. I would have expected Liz’s next fight to be against Sarah Kaufman. If she had more tome to prep Liz might have a better chance as she has fairy decent wrestling. But Marloes is a beast at 135 with a long reach and a lot of experience.

Personally I would have rather seen them unleash Amanda Nunes on Marloes if she could make weight that fast.

Crap-sticks

Would of been an “appealing” fight. I really like Coenen. When I first saw her fights on online I thought “Wow she is an absolute killer. Super aggressive and technical. And shes cute” then I thought about our babies. No wait….I happy they didnt cancel the fight. The cyborg fight was crazy tough, and I still think she could of kept fighting when it was stopped. When I saw what she made $ when she got the belt I felt sorry for her, then she talked and I realized she was the happiest fighter in the world because she was champion. Either way, Im happy shes fighting and hope she gets a TKO finish!!! And Meisha, don’t hurt that body too much. We want to see you in action!

Don’t read to much into the reported Golden Glory salaries. A good chunk of their wage is paid through GG for tax purposes.

Why is it that any article about Tate all people talk about is that gif?

I like it, too, but there’s more to her than a great butt – she’s also a quality fighter. I was really going to enjoy this fight.

yes, she’s a fantastic fighter. But she also has incredible assets. I like being able to be a fan of her grappling style and simultaneously watch a great looking, well-endowed girl fight.

Agreed completely, but what bugs me is that most people talk only about how she looks. I hope I’m not sounding like a prude, because I’m the total opposite, but I feel that many are overlooking a great fight that was lost and just focusing on her ass.

Damn there goes the hottest match in MMA history.

Hopefully Carmouche brings it because we know Coenen will.

Carmouche is actually a decent replacement considering how short notice this is. I don’t think she has much of a chance against Coenen, and I was actually looking forward to Tate vs Coenen (not just for the looks). However, Carmouche is actually a solid prospect in the very thin Womens 135 lb division, but it’s definitely too early for her to be fighting Coenen.

Sucks since it was a title fight. Honestly I dont care for female mma so I dont care about this fight bu is the replacement any good?

by Aldo27 on Feb 23, 2011 8:56 PM EST reply actions

This is not competitive in the slightest, dunno why the AC would let this fight happen.

awww

that sucks for Miesha, as both challenger and champion were perfect for a good show. Though it does say something for Strikeforce that they were able to find a replacement on really short notice.

So at least Coenen can get her pay day.

Makes me wonder what she was doing in training so close to fight day to jack up her knee. Shouldn’t it all be weight cutting and PR stuff this close to weigh ins?
