It seems that Takanori Gomi will indeed be making his return to ADCC competition, as he is among the names on an initial list of competitors for the 2011 ADCC Asia Trials.
Former ADCC competitor Tetsu Suzuki is set to compete as well. Suzuki finished fourth in the 66kg. division at the 2007 ADCC World Championship, losing to Leo Vieira in the semifinals and again to Baret Yoshida in the third place match.
DEEP x Real King grappling tournament winner Kohei Yasumi and 2010 143lb. Shooto Rookie champion Yuta Sasaki are also among the list of competitors announced.

From watching his fights in the UFC
His grappling seems like its lacking…Am I missing something?

I don't know that it's lacking...
He won’t be coming away an ADCC champion or anything… but he’s won the All Japan Combat Wrestling Championship (video) on a few times since the last time he was at the ADCC finals in 2001.
Matt Serra really took it to him at the finals there in 2001 (here’s a video).
He had that exhibition with Shane Roller at the UFC Fan Expo (video).
