Interview from: DreamFighters.com Exclusive with Sergei
Sergei, can you tell us any stories about your old training days with Fedor and his team?
We trained a lot of Sambo training, I had a boxing back ground. We trained under supervision of the now deceased Pogodin. It were good times but we were very young and naive and did not really know that much of the fighting industry. Fedor later also went to Holland to start learning better stand up and seprated from the Russian Top Team. The training days were hard and long, Fedor loved running for a long time and was good at Sambo.
We have a lot of Russian fans of the site. How is training in Russia different from training anywhere else in the world?
Training was good but the level of strikers in Holland at Golden Glory is just crazy, the fist time I went there my shins hurt so much, I wanted to go to the hospital as I thought they were broke. Turned out just a huge bruiser, my whole body was sore the first two weeks. I felt small being a big guy, but i always came to the training and they started to admire that and I got embedded in the team.
