I’m tempted at ordering this PPV, kinda like, why not just throw 10 bucks and support this promotion. I’m excited about seeing the main event, and Rodriguez has always been an intriguing fighter for me. I can probably get a friend to throw five bucks to just split it, might be fun.

Ten bucks does sound like a really good deal
With the time difference, that means I could get pretty hammered around noon to watch the start of live fights from England… wow, this idea gets better and better!
sounds good to me

Do we think we can talk Brent into doing live results?

Since the worst possible outcome for Strikeforce usually happens,
I’ll take Shirai by sub.

This is the same promotion that gave Rogers a shot at Overeem
After getting decapitated by Fedor.
So yeah, I’m going to say Strikeforce might be full of shit – or they want to protect Diaz if they deem Daley as a threat.
They didn’t have anyone to fight the reem for the title, i mean would you have preferred tony lopez?(i would have)
Now they have too many heavy weights. It’s kinda hilarious

No way!
I see Nick struggling to get Daley to the ground and Daleys stand up is probably the strongest in the ww division, the guy is vicious!
If Nick can get and keep Daley down though
Daley is toast. If Nick’s not too hot on his wrestling (which he isn’t) perhaps he can work on his flying guard pulls.
Daley is taking this and the shit talking for Daley/Diaz will be unbeleivable

God I love Paul Daley
I am not a big streaming guy, but I intend to make an exception for this. WAR DALEY!… and whoever else is on the card.

Yuya Shirai
has never won against a name fighter in the history of his career. I can’t believe Coker would even act like this fight remotely mattered.
If it seems like everyone around you is an asshole, you are probably an asshole.
I love the saying "the deck's going to get reshuffled."
Dana should steal that

His exit from the UFC was deserved, but still a shame. Would have loved to see him against Thiago Alves!
that's a great fight!
good call.

Daley may never have reached the pinnacle of the UFC WW division
But he sure could have given us some good fights :)
“If (Paul Daley) loses, the deck’s going to get reshuffled, and if he wins, then he’ll be the first in line to get the title shot (vs. Nick Diaz).”
Seems a lot of risk for little award in making Daley’s title shot hinge on this fight. But it is what it is I suppose. I’m not sure who else they can pair with Diaz that would be as notable as him fighting Daley…nor while they really care if Daley’s coming off of a loss.
I doubt Coker was pushing for this fight xD
Daley’s taken it for whatever reason, be it a prior commitment, money, support of a uk promotion, whatever. Chances are if Daley wasn’t taking this we’d see him fighting Diaz if he wanted it, Coker’s just stating the obvious in that if he loses he’s not going to get a shot.

It is a little odd that Coker said that
My (completely unsupported) opinion is that he wanted to send a message to fighters that there are consequences for going outside the promotion and losing, which effectively diminishes a fighter’s value to SF. So he sends the message, which doesn’t cost him too much, cause Daley will probably win, but kind of puts him in a bind if Daley loses, since he is the best opponent for Diaz by miles. If he loses, I could see Coker backing out of this, since it costs him too much to go have Daley beaten by Woodley, or whatever.
My prediction: one way or another, Diaz-Daley is next on the slate.

Daleys contract allows him to take out side fights. Coker wasn’t thrilled about this at all.
Coker has been upping the game over at SF and putting more relevance into the belts is some thing he is working on. Not having guys coming off of losses fighting for the belt is part of that.
In all likelihood Daley is going to blast Shirai for yet another first round brutal KO/TKO victory on his record. That being said I just can’t stop thinking about how easyJorge Masvidal was able to take Daley down and how horrible his takedown def looked in that fight and the Kos fight and the Nick Thompson fight. And unlike Daley’s recent fights like Masvidal & Kos Yuya Shirai is more then capable of getting a sub qnd if he can keep getting the repeated take down he can do exactly what Kos did and hold Daley down in top control in half guard/guard for a 3 round decision victory.
In my opinion its a very interesting fight that could easily result in a upset ? Even though I would not throw my money down on that. I would just love to know how serious Daley took this fight and how hard he trained and studied his opponent ? If he comes in looking like he did against Masvidal or Nick Thompson he has a real possibility of loosing this fight ?
I'd love to see Yuya Shirai win
but I want to see Diaz and Daley throw down more than any other welterweight fight in Strikeforce.
Daley is terrible at maths
“if you step into the cage with me, there’s 80% chance you’re getting knocked out”. Daley doesn’t even finish by KO/TKO in 80% of his WINS. According to his history, there is a 51,35% chance that you get KO’d if you step into the ring/cage with him.
I've heard him say this before
It’s over 80 percent of his wins if you count submissions due to strikes (as an unapologetic Daley nuthugger, I think its pretty awesome that he has three submissions to strikes in his career — dude is MEAN).
Of course your point is dead on, but if Daley was good at math, I’d probably like him less.
