I don’t think it’s a title fight

Title fight or not...
Though the same thing happened with Nog against Inoue. I think Inoue was coming off of 2-3 loses when he fought Big Nog.

it isn't
but still. why match them up?

Never said he wouldn't be a challenge.
Just joking about putting your champ up against a guy coming off a loss.
The Kennedy fight doesn't count
They made Nick fight up a weight class because they couldn’t get him a competitor in his own weight class. This is important since size is one of his main tools. the other two losses though still make me question the match up. It should be an interesting fight because Nick’s strength has been his size and his wrestling.
Askren should be like a -1200 favorite here. Actually I’m terrible at odds, but I’m just sayin, HUUUUGE favorite
More like -9000

I’m a big Goat fan, but…this is NOT the time for this matchup.

I wonder what Huerta is up to
Haven’t heard anything about him since that Alvarez fight.
I heard something about training in Thailand and saving lives, but nothing regarding upcoming fights.
Yeah he’s hanging out with Mike Swick in Thailand – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ED1Ho_o8Xgo

Curan/Alvarez is gonna be a fantastic fight.
I’ve got Alvarez , but the fight itself is a pretty much perfect example of what is great about Bellator.
imada vs curran was a fucking robbery
curran shouldnt be getting this fight

man everyone keeps saying that
Saw the fight, and it was a split decision…the split decision could have gone either way, but Pat took it with typical control.
Under pride rules…yeah, Imada would have taken it

also, gotta say
I’m a big imada fan- i even lost money on that fight, was bummed, but not as pissed when Machida took the decision from Shogun (also had money on that one)

Curran realized he lost
look at his face moments before the decision was announced. He was looking down and shaking his head. The classic, “I lost that fight” look. So when Curran knows he lost the fight, who are you to disagree?
I'll be pulling for Imada to win this season's tournament
Just so he can get the title shot that he already earned.
UFC
Hopefully Ben and Eddie end up in the UFC soon.
“Ben’s been completely dominant in every fight he’s had under the Bellator banner, and Nick has run the MMA gauntlet in his career, fighting everywhere and everyone,” said Bellator CEO Bjorn Rebney. “We have nobody even close to challenging Ben so we are just giving him easy paydays so he hopefully doesn’t leave us real soon.”
Just seeing Thompson’s record, it just makes me wonder how Bellator couldn’t find any other Welterweight. There has got to have a recently cut ex-UFC Welterweight out there that they could have gotten or something. I mean, there’s guys like Nick Oszipzack, Dustin Hazelett if he wants to move back up to Welterweight, and I know that there are others that would be better than Nick Thompson.
I won't jump off the bandwagon just because you lost.

I bet a lot of those ex-UFC welterweights are being VERY careful about who they fight next. Trying to go through Askren is probably one of the hardest roads to take to get back onto the big-show.
Yeah, I don't see a bunch of fighters lining up to face Askren
Even though he’s very good, he’s a prospect with no big wins. There’s a decent chance you’ll lose to him and not a whole lot of upside to beating him, especially if you’re a former UFC fighter. Plus you have to enter into a contractual agreement with Bellator. I doubt any of these guys who think they can get back into the UFC want to risk getting tied up in a championship clause or in litigation and lose a couple years off of their career.
At this stage of the MMA game, it looks to be harder to get back into the UFC. There are fighters like Denis Siver who got cut, and came back better than before, but those fighters are few and far between. What I’m saying is that Bellator may be the best place for some of these ex-UFC fighters as I know that some of these UFC castoffs just aren’t UFC caliber fighters at this point, and examples of this would be someone like a Brad Blackburn, Steve Bruno, Rory Markham, and many others.
I won't jump off the bandwagon just because you lost.

Odd fight for Askren. Much rather see him against a guy like Saunders or Alessio.

Did The announce Venues Yet?
I would really love to see Eddie live again in Philadelphia, that place went bananas for him and he tee’d up on Huerta there I think he destroys Pat.
I am vorn the unspeakable the skulls of those who defy me bleach in the suns of hundreds of worlds...... and you are
If I were Askren I wouldn’t want to fight a BJJ guy; I’d rather fight strikers and wrestlers since neither has any hope against him on the ground and knocking out someone who only wants to wrestle with you is extremely difficult. Ben is, at this point, definitely submittable.
Prior to his recent losing streak, Thompson had won 14 of 15 with the only loss being to Shields. He also beat Semtek who was not too long ago ranked in the top 10. He’s not, or at least wasn’t, a push over.
