MMA veteran Valentijn Overeem quickly submitted kickboxing legend Ray Sefo in the first round of their Strikeforce: Fedor vs Silva bout with a neck crank.
The fight is an alternate fight for the Strikeforce heavyweight tournament.
Overeem, 35, is 29-25 in a long MMA career. He has fought many of the legends of the sport including Randy Couture, Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira and Renato "Babalu" Sobral. He is the older brother of tournament participant Alistair Overeem who many expect to be Fedor Emelianenko's toughest challenger in the tournament.
Sefo, 39, is a kickboxing legend with a 56-21 record. Unfortunately he was only 2-0 in MMA and Overeem quickly capitalized on his limitations on the ground by taking him down, getting side mount and applying a neck crank. Sefo quickly tapped out in submission.
