Strikeforce: Fedor vs. Silva Results: Gina Carano Set for 2011 Return
Gina Carano's new movie, "Haywire" is coming out this April, but for MMA fans, there's even bigger news about the female star. Scott Coker's surprise announcement on tonight's Strikeforce: Fedor vs. Silva broadcast would be the return of the face of female MMA sometime this year. Ariel Helwani has it:
Strikeforce will announce on Saturday night's Strikeforce: Fedor vs. Silva telecast on Showtime that Gina Carano will be returning to action later this year.
Carano is at the Izod Center, site of Saturday night's event. She will appear in front of the crowd at some point during the telecast to discuss her return.
Carano hasn't competed since losing the title bout against Strikeforce 145 lb. champ Cyborg Santos back in August of 2009, but she has been recently been seen training with XtremeCouture's Gil Martinez to prepare for her comeback. No opponent has been announced yet, but as always, stay tuned to bloodyelbow.com for more updates.

I have a better voice
And I’m not even black
She's a big girl. I doubt she can make it lower than she already has. And by that I mean she's stuck in Cyborgland.

Hopefully she tries to drop a division. I am already envisioning the weigh in and hoping for a towel slip as she strips down to make weight!

Is there video of the announcement?
I’ve seen on a few other blogs that people are saying she looked high/drunk when they interviewed her. When I watched it I thought it was just nerves. Being paraded out there as a “big announcement” in front of 10,000+ people.
Yeah, she seemed very nervous, giggly, and slightly uncomfortable. I thought it was weird for them to have it as a huge announcement, but not being able to confirm any return date or fight for her.
