Really?

I had this mofo booked off from work months in advance. I’m not gonna miss a Fedor sighting after last year’s disappointment.

Comcast are a bunch of assholes…they infest central PA as well. At least you can still pay to get Showtime, amirite?

by gzl5000 on Feb 11, 2011 5:58 PM EST up reply actions

yeah I get showtime in hd, the only recent ufc fight I got in hd was the prelims on ion tv if thats any indication
of the shit that is comcast.

For the last ufc I called and they argued with me that it was availabe in hd so I told them to order it for me and I still only got standard def. I’m sure they’ll screw up the bill too and charge me for the hd broadcast that doesn’t exist, so thats another 2 hrs on the phone with some lady in the caribbean somewhere.

Still waiting for fios to get done over here, its getting close to my area. My neighbor had a shitty experience with satellite so I’m avoiding that for now.

Recording it at home. Hopefully they start doing them right with the main event fighters weighing in last. And they really need to let someone other than Jimmy Lennon Jr do them.

Good test for Shane

Like this matchup, they need to give Rosario a real opponent, I think he might be legit..

by flingom on Feb 11, 2011 5:40 PM EST via mobile up reply actions

IMO Shane should have had a GP spot instead of Brett “Warpath Took Me To A Decision” Rogers.

by Rob Young on Feb 11, 2011 5:44 PM EST up reply actions

I think shane and bobby lashley should have had a spot

by Wormwood on Feb 11, 2011 5:45 PM EST up reply actions

warpath has lost a lot of fights but he is tough to finish. a win is a win. i dont think discounting a win makes sense. brett deserves to be in the tournament. he lost to fedor and overeem. not exactly chopped liver

Werdum beat Fedor, Dos Santos beat Werdum, Joaquim Ferreira beat Dos Santos. Therefore Ferreira is WAAAAY better than Fedor. Keep MMA math alive!

always so deflating…

I think you’re protesting too much.

SF has only been around for a little over a year. It’s not going to be the same or as big as the UFC.

If you as a fight fan, aren’t excited because the budget is smaller… maybe you’re not as big of a fight fan as you think, and more of a UFC fan.

Just sayin’

by TotalAbuse on Feb 11, 2011 6:29 PM EST up reply actions

Strikeforce has been around for little over a year? Try 26 years.

"That's racism man, I love to racism bro!"

by Hendo_One-Shot on Feb 11, 2011 7:04 PM EST up reply actions

as a national promotion

with international fighters = 1 year.

Do you equate pre zufia ufc with the UFC of now?

by TotalAbuse on Feb 11, 2011 8:26 PM EST up reply actions

with international fighters? what the fuck does that have to do with weighins? you don’t have to have world class talent signed to half a half decent weigh in, and build some buzz.

"That's racism man, I love to racism bro!"

by Hendo_One-Shot on Feb 11, 2011 10:00 PM EST up reply actions

This is a BS argument right now. Who cares how long they have been around, weigh ins are a great opportunity to build some buzz and hype for the card. you don’t need to be around for 10 years to have that figured out, the blueprint has been laid out forever, if they started yesterday they still would be missing an opportunity by doing it this way.

by Phildo on Feb 11, 2011 9:42 PM EST up reply actions

I dont know. weigh ins never did much for me.

i thought the weigh in was fine. who needs fake animosity? If you want that watch the wwe

by crizzy on Feb 12, 2011 12:07 AM EST up reply actions

that’s you. The fact that you even know that this is happening this weekend puts you in a different category.

There’s a reason that big boxing and ufc events have crazy atmospheres for weigh ins, and not all of them have fake animosity.

by Phildo on Feb 12, 2011 9:21 AM EST up reply actions

I hate Kenny Rice more then I hate any other MMA commentator/personality in the history of this sport.

The only contenders are Damon “The Dog” Perry and Bill Wallace from UFC 1. Both of them were short lived. Kenny Rice won’t leave.

by Hawk52 on Feb 11, 2011 5:57 PM EST reply actions

Perry was easily the worst announcer in the history of the sport. Dude was flat awful.

What’s worse is that Jerry Millen shit-canned the Fight Professor in order to make room for him.

by Steve4192 on Feb 11, 2011 6:05 PM EST up reply actions

Rogers not what most think

I really can’t express how bad Roger’s looked in his Halifax fight against Warpath. He was slow, sluggish, fat and got his ass kicked. Can you imagine if Warpath was put in over Rogers in this tourney? What would the odds on him winning? 10000:1?

Rogers has a “First half of round one punchers chance”. Nothing more, nothing less.

May as well put Russow or Madsen or Duffee in there.

Don't you worry....

it’s just slightly more evenly distributed this time around. A classic Fedor KO/TKO is on the way.

I didnt’ know that Shane DR was that big…..kid is talented and I hope he does well because he could build to be a force for SF someday at HW.

I was surprised that he was bigger than Johnston.

by fitefan on Feb 12, 2011 1:09 AM EST up reply actions

Also the size difference between Fedor and AS is f’ing crazy…..and to think many of Fedors fights he has battled against giants that outweighed him this much….and always won except once, that is nuts.

He looks like a serial killer trying to mimic human emotion…

To save me some time on 25% of all threads, here's the universal answer to the Fedor-debate: Fedor is the most accomplished MMA fighter ever. That is a fact. If he still is the best fighter at this point in time is up for debate.
