Report: Charles Oliveira vs. Eric Wisely In the Works for UFC on Fox 2
It appears that Charles Oliveira will make his featherweight debut at UFC on Fox 2 in Chicago on January 28th. Although earlier reports pointed to Oliveira facing Robert Peralta at the first UFC on FX show in Nashville, it appears that match-up has been scrapped and "Do Bronx" will instead face UFC newcomer, Eric Wisely, in featherweight bout on the Fox card according to MMA Junkie:
Charles Oliveira (14-2 MMA, 2-2 UFC) and newcomer Eric Wisely (19-6 MMA, 0-0 UFC) have agreed to meet next in their new weight classes next month at UFC on FOX 2, event sources confirmed with MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com).
Oliveira hasn't seen action since getting TKO'd by Donald Cerrone at UFC on Versus 5 in August. Now looking to boost his UFC record past .500 at a new weight class, Oliveira should prove to be quite large at featherweight and his dynamic skills on the feet and on the ground could prove to be a tough challenge for any UFC featherweight.
Wisely is an Iowa native, and a veteran of the midwest regional scene, and is best known for two wins over former UFC lightweight title contender, Hermes Franca, in 2011, along with a submission win over another former UFC fighter, Matt Veach, earlier this year. Oliveira vs. WIsely is expected to take place on the preliminary portion of the UFC on Fox 2 card.
Charles "do Bronx" Oliveira (14-2)
L Donald Cerrones (TKO) - UFC on Versus 5
NC Nik Lentz - UFC on Versus 4
L Jim Miller (submission) - UFC 124
Eric "Little Lee" Wiseley (19-6)
W Brandon Girtz (TKO) - Downtown Showdown
L Pat Healy (unam. decision) - Strikeforce Challengers 18
W Lance Wipf (split decision) - Superior Cage Combat 1

Aw man
I saw somewhere else that it’d be Peralta
Business as Usual has a STACKED team. I mean, we could win with just me, but you know.
Do you hate Oliviera?

I don't hate him
I just thought that’d be a fun fight.

I definitely would've picked Oliviera in that fight.

Oliviera isn't as good as Peralta, hasn't won in over a year, and is debuting in a new weight class.
Peralta would have done bad things to Do Bronx.

Head conductor of the Charles Oliveira hype train.
Oliviera is still an exciting young talent who could be a force at Featherweight. He did make an entertaining fight with Nik Lentz after all. I do think that Oliviera has a pretty solid skillset already, and he is still young and can improve.
