I’m not sure I agree that the Fox situation was the straw that broke the camel’s back. With the deal with Spike ending, and the new deal already signed, the UFC has no reason to help Spike, and Spike has no reason to help the UFC, so this is the end result.
The promotion for all UFC stuff on Spike (from both parties) has been going down all year, this is the natural conclusion.
It sucks for the fighters, but it’s still a pretty good deal. A fight on Spike is a fight on Spike, and that’s really good for the “contestants” and it probably works out well for Mayhem and Bisping because a poorly promoted card on Spike is better than a PPV that was poorly promoted by Spike.
