Lesnar v Overeem - K1 Level Striking minigame

It seems like everyone is looking forward to this fight, none more so than Joe Rogan who gets to salivate over Overeem's 'K1 level striking' for as long as the fight lasts.

Star-divide

Given the fight could go any number of ways (and who knows how long it lasts) I thought it might be fun to see how many times we think Rogan mentions 'K1 level striking'. Will start counting from the fight intro until the end of the broadcast.

Once at somepoint as the fight is starting or before the fight…maybe Alistair’s walkout.

Then again at the end of the fight when Brock is in the fetal position on the canvas.

I think 2 actual separate occasions of bringing up ‘K-1 level striking’

But as far as how many times he says ‘K-1’…probably a few times more.

If

Overeem wins by KO I think it could be infiinite! If Brock immediately takes him down and wrestlefucks/lunchboxes him into oblivion we might only get the 1 during the walkout.

Sounds interesting

Drink every time Rogan mentions ‘K1’ or every time Goldberg says ‘TEEP’.

Which basically equates to a round, i dont see this fighting going a third round.

I am willing to test myself against the toughest fighters in the world, in front of hundreds of thousands or even millions of fans, over and over again. Sometimes I win, sometimes I lose, but I always come to fight. I've been doing this for the past fourteen years, and I have at least a few more strong years left in me. What have you done in the past fourteen years other than act like a moron on this forum and hang on Anderson's nuts? - Dan Henderson.

But it all ends with a knee like this below!

It disappoints me when some vocal people in cyberspace hide behind a pseudonym and make malicious and baseless attacks against athletes that have never failed a screen for banned substances. These keyboard toxicologists think that they can merely look at an athlete and "know" that so-and-so is a "juicer." There is a term for that. It's called "delusions of grandeur," and medication may help. (Dr. Johnny Benjamin)

Joe really tends to hug sack

I remember the worst hugging he ever did was back when Hughes/Sylvia/et al were still prominent…every other thing out of his mouth was “The Miletich Camp”.

Come on, Rebel, we gonna bust him up tonight!

The real question is...

how many times will Goldberg repeat it 3 mins after Joe says it.

IDK what Rogan will do more

mention K1 level striking or go OH! everytime Overeem or Lesnar lands a strike. I kinda see it being fairly even.

haha just like he ruined the Korean Zombie 7 second KO with his orgasming OHHHHOHHHOOHHHHHOHHHHOHHHHHH UNBELIEVABLE while Goldie was promoting a video game or some nonsense.

by lordrubbish on Dec 22, 2011 12:15 PM EST reply actions

None.

He uses that term to convince people that someone who hasn’t really displayed their striking power actually has some, and the term is usually used with someone who actually hasn’t competed in K-1.

He’ll mention that Reem is the 2010 K-1 World GP champ a few times however. I bet Bruce Buffer will even mention it in the intro.

by Rob Young on Dec 22, 2011 1:18 PM EST reply actions

Over 5, easy

I’d go under if Overeem wasn’t actually the current K1 Champion, but that will be the edge that puts him over.

Hell, even HD Barry will get an easy 3-4 K1 mentions per fight + an Ernesto Hoost drop, garaunteed.

I counted 3 mentions of ‘K1’ by Rogan but not a single ‘K1 Level Striking’.

Congrats Hendo_One-Shot!! :-)
