In this very candid interview with MMAprime.tv, the female 145lbs StrikeForce Champion opens up about life as the champion. Cyborg talks about how she managed to stay motivated after a year without fighting, her opponent when she defends the title December 17th, fighting 20 feet away from her home gym and more.
The Champion also mentions that she will attempt a move to 135lbs after this fight. Cyborg finds it amusing that people call her out at 145lbs for her title and then move down to 135lbs to avoid the fights. Therefore, in attempt to get more fights in the more abundant 135lbs female division, Cyborg will try to make the cut down in weight. Cris also talks about what it is like to train with her husband; fellow pro fighter Evangelista Cyborg and her time at Chute Boxe Academy in Brazil.

She would have to lose some muscle, but she has struggled to make 145 in the past. Proper diet and losing that muscle, and hopefully, she can make the weight cut, but that is harsh on her body.

I would imagine she would have to make huge dietary changes.

If Cyborg can do it though, I think that would be cool as there are some good fights for her at the 135 lb Womens Division. At 145, there’s Germaine De Randamie and Julia Budd, who are both coming off losses, and her opponent coming up. Otherwise, there just aren’t any good matchups for her.

Does anybody know the differneces in weight cutting between male and female fighters?
Somehow, I can’t imagine that they’re exactly the same.
I’ve heard that women maintain more water weight, but I’m not sure if that’s true or not.

Is it just me?
Or are there a lot more stories on female fighters and the like since Ronda Rousey burst on to the scene? Or is it that I’m just way more interested? The Rousey Tate debate was awesome.
I believe in Chael Sonnen.
It's just you

She could beat Evangelista's ass, I bet.
Also oh my god she’s only 26. She must be related to the Noguiera bros.

Besides Gina Carano who I don’t even know is ever going to have an MMA bout again, Cyborg is the only female fighter that has some name value at the 145 lb Womens Division. Consolidating the two Strikeforce Women’s divisions into one weight division in 135 is their best option. There are good fights for Cyborg there.

Great that she'll cut to 135!
It’s definitely not the best state of affairs that the women need to be streamlined into one 135lb division in strikeforce, ideally they’d have plenty of divisions stacked with fighters. But, since Cyborg can’t get a fight at 145lb, i’m chuffed that she’s moving to a busier weight class, there’s going to be some exciting fights!

Also, Cyborg isn’t attractive, but I don’t find the woman ugly by any means. The shit she gets on the internet has always kind of annoyed me.
There aren't a ton of attractive female fighters
Gina comes to mind as the only one that is really pretty, and even then, she always looks like she is smelling something bad. Even women like Rousey and Tate are on the plain side. The same goes for the guys though. How many truly handsome male fighters do you know of?
If these people were really good looking, they would’ve gone into modelling, not face punching.

Gina is the only pretty female fighter?

Uh.... you don't find her ugly by any means?
She looks like a man with a wig on dude. She may be a good fighter for a woman, but that doesnt mean it makes her any better lookin. Fortunately, as stated above, she’s not in the modeling business.
