Ever since jon Jones burst onto the scene myself along with many others on this site have established quite the hatred for him. Some attribute this hatred to some pretty stupid reasons such as Jones "Fakeness" or the even more rediculous uproar over jones dropping machida after the choke, i hated watching machida crumple to the mat just as much as everyone else but im not going to hate on Jones for that he was just doing what the ref wanted him to do.
I believe my dislike for Jones comes from watching him destroy mma legends with such ease. No one can say they enjoyed watching Jones take out Shogun so easily, even if you are one of the few die hard jones fans im sure you were hoping for more of a competitive mathcup than that. The same argument can be made for the Rampage fight, anyone who considers themselves a fan of mma must remember some of the classic fights rampage has been involved in, and to watch him get completely outclassed by a relative newcomer was not fun to watch. I along with most people who fequent this site was a big fan of pride and to watch two legends get beat so easily by such a young fighter was pretty disheartening.
In the end Jones may be a little too cocky and he could definitely show a little more respect for the legends of the sport in his pre fight interviews, but as dana white previousley stated anyone who walked through the light heavyweight division as easily as jones did deserves to be a little cocky. Even after stating all this i myself will never be a jones fan and i doubt most of you will either, i just wanted to bring a slightly new perspective to the table.
This is my first post to BE i hope you all enjoyed it
