Wooooooooo!!!!!

So a few other posters have asked me to keep y'all updated on my situation. Back story is I am a former JUCO wrestler who was born with cerebral palsy. I just finished my BA in Philosophy this past spring and am in a MBA program with the intentions of getting into Sports Management.

Now, like many of you I saw UFC 139, which was headlined by the greatest MMA fight ever!!!!!! I was at Buffalo Wild Wings with a bunch of my friends after having just finished the blazing wing challenge. We sat there watching the greatness unfold and something deep inside me stirred. I realized by the end of that epic night that I could never be happy sitting on the sidelines watching amazing fights like that. I had to expand my knowledge of combat sports past collegiate wrestling and start learning BJJ, kickboxing, western boxing, muay thai, submission grappling. Everything. The next week, me and my roommate, who happens to be a TKD black belt checked out Fight Club Pittsburgh MMA. One problem. I had no money, and was in the middle of finding a job after I had a bunch of money problems earlier this fall. Long story to a slightly shorter story, I have gotten two jobs this week. One blue collar no frills maintenance job on campus over winter break, and one management supervisor job in the Athletic Department at school as well, which will lead to a Grad Assistant position with a focus in Sports Management. So once I get my first paycheck and can set up a checking account, I will be going back to FCPMMA and signing up for both the MMA program and the BJJ which is taught by a Renzo Gracie blackbelt.

Yesterday I mentioned that I am starting #teamBE on twitter. I want Ben Saunders to join, and once I start competing and can afford custom vale tudo shorts I will have LETSMUTHERFUKERS!!!!! somewhere on them, as well as #teamBE. If SBNation sponsored fighters that would be awesome although I am just being crazy at this point.

Anyway I am PUMPED and will represent BE with all my heart and determination. The mind is a beautiful thing and God blessed me with an iron will and pretty good athleticism as well as great looks. So I will have a championship belt at some point. I hope to fight at 135 or 145 but at this point I just am antsy to begin training and honestly will take a fight at any weight class. I don't get paid until three days before Christmas so I might have to wait until after the 1st of the year, but that way I can make 2012 the best year ever!
