I feel like the scrutiny they've put Alistair Overeem under is a lot more stringent than with most other fighters. I wasn't aware that they had instituted pre-fight random drug testing. Has this always been their practice? I've never heard of it before this Lesnar/Overeem fight but maybe it was never an issue because no one had evaded one of these tests.
In any case, I feel like they're really raking him over the coals here. When it was Josh Barnett having license issues I understood after failing THREE drug tests. When it was Chael Sonnen using the Chewbacca defense I am not sure which one of his many problems he was being held accountable for by being denied a license, but it still made sense.
Alistair Overeem's only crime is just not fighting stateside and then eating horses until he looked like the Brown Adonis. He definitely doesn't look natural, but they don't have anything to suggest that. He's never had any issues in the past so why are they giving so much grief about getting licensed now? I am glad that he did get his license but with so much deliberation it seemed like they didn't want to give it to him.
It also bothers me how there seems to be no real rules or laws to abide by here, it's basically just a think tank in a public forum and you just throw out suggestions until enough people are agreeable, and then act like justice was served. All I'm saying is something's gotta change, this system is ridiculous.
