Chael Sonnen never shut his mouth but he was humble in the build up for his contest with Brian Stann. Sure, he may have fabricated a story about the Noguiera brothers trying to feed a bus a carrot, but he was really polite and respectful of Brian Stann. The world thought he had turned a corner... and then he won. Like Tito Ortiz waiting 5 years to do that goddamn grave-digger routine, he had that call out just waiting to put himself back on the map. Although still unofficial, he's done everything he possibly could after his many many follies to secure his rematch with Anderson Silva.

Enter Nick Diaz. You all know the drama of his removal from the main event and then concurrent replacement of the main event. He wasn't as eloquent in his call out but the message was plain and simple, he wanted GSP.

Now here's my issue. Allegedly it wasn't Nick's big mouth that got him his big money fight with Georges St. Pierre. No, allegedly GSP was so upset he brazenly threw down the gauntlet and said to Uncle Dana something like he is disrespectful and I will lay on him in such a manner they will name a duvet cover after me. Something like that. It doesn't really matter what he said, because we heard it form Dana's mouth. 

GSP was sooooooo angry that he let Dana do the talking for him. He didn't come into the octagon like Rashad Evan's routinely does. He didn't tell Ariel Helwani. He didn't even use 140 characters with an @ sign and a hashtag to do it.

I don't think he did it at all. I thank God that this fight got remade, it is probably the greatest fight I could ask for. But I don't care for this narrative with absolutely nothing from GSP's side. Even if Chael doesn't really hate Anderson and this is all a clever guise, I appreciate that he's the one putting on the show and not letting DFW pull the strings.
