The Reem Episode 7 - Alistair Overeem Explains Departure From Golden Glory

THE REEM SEASON 2 EPISODE 7: CROSSROADS from THE REEM on Vimeo.

Alistair Overeem made an appearance on today's MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani. There was some big news to come out of the interview such as Overeem training at Xtreme Couture in Las Vegas for his fight against Brock Lesnar. Overeem hasn't decided if that will be his permanent home for his UFC career but it is comfortable as he knows Ray Sefo from his time in K-1. He also teased that the reason for his leaving Golden Glory would be explained on the new episode of The Reem.

In the above video Alistair gives some reasoning behind the move. It came down to a breach in trust. The negotiations between the UFC and Golden Glory caused some miscommunications between Alistair and the Zuffa executives. He goes as far as to say that Golden Glory has harmful management and that the trainers and managers worked too close that he wasn't sure they had his best interest in mind. The full episode gives more details but the key thing to note is that he believed they were no longer looking out for his career.
