Terry Etim picked up a very quick guillotine victory over Edward Faaloloto in the first bout of the UFC 138 main card today in Birmingham. The official time was just 17 seconds. It was an extremely impressive performance from Etim, and should be a lock to win another submission of the night bonus.
Etim came out, touched gloves, and laid right into Faaloloto with his hands and a spinning back kick. Faaloloto closed the distance and looked for a body lock, but Etim immediately clamped on a guillotine and jumped onto Eddie. There would be no escape, as Faaloloto grimaced, fell down, and promptly tapped out.
Etim was finally making his return to the cage after an 18-month stint on the sidelines with a variety of injuries. He had been on a four-fight winning streak before a loss in his last bout to Rafael dos Anjos at UFC 112. He has won three submission of the night bonuses in the UFC. and is in line for a fourth with that performance. Faaloloto entered the fight with a 2-2 record, dropping his one fight in the WEC and his first bout in the UFC. He trains with UFC 138 main event fighter Chris Leben in Hawaii.
