Chael Sonnen and Arianny Celeste Engage in Twitter Beef

Twitter certainly makes life as an MMA fan interesting. When you're not seeing which weird 35 year old adult is begging a top 50 middleweight for a retweet, you can see fighters two weight classes apart talk about beating each other up. But the recent "beef" between Chael Sonnen and Arianny Celeste is the first I can remember between a fighter and a ring card girl.
It started with a comment made by Sonnen when asked about who should win Ring Girl of the Year honors at the World MMA Awards (which Chael is hosting). Via Fighters Only, Chael responded with:
"We only had one and that was Chandella [Powell]. The other was the IQ card girl. Arianny [Celeste] kind of walks around and holds up her latest test score. One time when there was a title fight, she got all the way up to five and we were very proud of her,"
Arianny originally responded on Twitter with this (now deleted) tweet:
Hey what's ur name.. after @spideranderson kicks your ass..u won't even be able to count to 5!! Get ready to kiss brazils ass!
Of course, not one to let someone else get the last word, Chael replied:
Seems easy to wear a bikini and seems easy to walk in a circle, but try walking in a circle while wearing a bikini. Talented girl!
Now we just wait and see if Arianny wins the award and has to have it handed to her by Chael. I guess anything that makes an awards show slightly more interesting.

Artists dont really get any respect at all until they’re dead. But most of her stuff is pretty pedestrian as far as quality goes. Nice to see a ring girl that has some kind of talent though.

It solely depends on your mind frame, I think.
To me it’s no difefrent than piggybacking subtext and symbolism in a novel or in a poem. It is information within information within information in compressed form. Sometimes it isn’t supposed to be outwardly clear for this or that social reason but this gets abused a hell of a lot by the community to build shit up to epic proportions, methinks.

Since they are both public figures it is MUCH harder to succeed with a defamation suit against them. This is why it’s so hard for celebrities to sue the tabloids, for Arriany to win she would have to prove “Actual Malice” a term basically meaning that he said the things with the sole intention to hurt her career, and she would likely have to prove damage to her career.
