Five Possibilities For Coaches On TUF 15
The fifteenth season of Ultimate Fighter is expected to feature lightweights and welterweights, but the coaches have yet to be announced. Here are a few possibilities.
Rashad Evans vs Jon Jones: Jones and Rashad have been feuding since Evans's split from Greg Jackson's camp, where they were teammates. Evans has earned a title shot which has been derailed several times due to injuries, so who's to say he won't wait a couple months more so he can coach TUF for a second time?
Rashad Evans vs Lyoto Machida: If Machida beats Jon Jones and becomes the Light Heavyweight champion for a second time, then why not give him a coaching spot on TUF? Evans has said that he would accept a second coaching spot if it was offered, and probably wants revenge on the only man to beat him.
Dominick Cruz vs Urijah Faber: Faber recently earned a third fight with Cruz, and has been pushing for a coaching spot on TUF. This would provide some much-needed exposure for the bantamweights, who have recently been struggling with casual fans.
Anderson Silva vs Chael Sonnen: Sonnen is expected to fight Mark Munoz next, but if he wins that fight, then who better to coach then Anderson Silva and his arch-nemesis Uncle Chael?
Josh Koscheck vs Diego Sanchez: Diego has been asking for a coaching spot on TUF for a couple years now, and him and Koscheck are currently 1-1, so what better way for the UFC to hype up their rubber match then a season of TUF? If Nick Diaz or Carlos Condit manages to beat GSP, the winner of this fight would be in the top five title contenders.
Who would you guys like to see coach the next Ultimate Fighter? Tell me in the comments. Or call me an imbecile. Or both.

Koscheck vs. Condit has been signed for Super Bowl weekend.
So that rules out Kos.

One thousand times this
Only however if Shonie Carter is the ref for every fight though
And I want Minowa host that post-TUF show that Bonnar and Amir hosted
Yes!
Can we also have Zulu there? I really really really want another heavyweight season, just to see Dana tell M-1 the only way Fedor can get a UFC contract is to go through TUF. It would be awesome to see a reserved pudgy Russian man who eats all the ice cream in the same house as 15 Matt Mitrione copies.

Thank you.
Cruz vs Faber is probably the most likely, but I feel that these choices would all be just as good.

I like Jones vs. Rashad...
I think that would be great but I also think Faber vs. Cruz is the most likely choice.

They're too small
I would like to see them coach batmanweights or even Featherweights, cause those lightweights or welterweights are too big, and Im pretty sure some of them wont respect them as much as a bigger coach. I like Silva vs sonnen, jon jones vs rashad/Hendo, or Diego sanchez vs Josh Koscheck
they won't respect a small coach?
Our assistant coach at NCCC wrestled 118 and 125 in college. He was maybe 135 soaking wet. I have seen 285 lbers who cower around him when he got pissed. If a coach is knowledgable, talented enough, and a good enough communicator to be a good coach, he will get that respect. I feel like both Faber and Cruz have those qualities. (Sorry, I just had to go on a bit of a rant there, it is the 133 lber in me getting defensive.)

agree with both of you
but I do see your point carlos about them probably being more suited to coaching featherweights or smaller. I would find it a little strange watching them coach welterweights- however as gladiator said I don’t think there would be any issues of respect considering the experience and level of both guys

oh i agree it would be a little strange looking
two 5’4" guys coaching a team who averages a whole head bigger than them? but the smaller guys are generally more technically sound, so they could teach them a few good things. I am more excited that the coaches training camps will be going on at the same time since we will be watching it live rather than 6 weeks of pre-packaged drama dragged out over 13 weeks.

Yip
I would love Jones-Evans or Jones-Hendo, but that damn Faber will get it.

It'll be Cruz vs Faber
Coaching bantamweights, and most likely middleweights (who are gonna DWARF them)

Where's the Kimbo vs Todd Duffee choice?
Of course I am messing with you!
Interesting selections. I think it will be Faber vs Cruz, but yeah, Silva and Sonnen would be awesome!

I doubt Silva would be interested
Seriously, just don’t think it’s his bag.
Cruz v Faber has to be a lock for this surely?
I love silva vs cheal since silva is going to be out until june anyways.
i dont like when they tie up a belt or fighters for too long. so this choice makes perfect sense.
how about actual coaches
Renzo versus Greg Jackson
Erik Paulson versus Duke Roufus
it would prevent fighters, and more important titles, from being put on the shelf for an extended period of time. Also, way more interesting then the artificial coaching that most (all?) of the coaches do now.

And what does the UFC gain from showing coaches on TV every week?
A lot of people will watch the show for the coaches, and it’s a great way to promote fighters.
I just don't think
that the fighters who serve as the coaches gain much of a promotional push from being on the show anymore. I think they could focus pushing the competitors on the show and develop interest in them instead of just pushing one fight.

silva and chael
would do amazing ratings. I would tune in every week to see when silva snaps and kills
chael.
Chael would probably hire “some mexican guy” to do stand ins for him.
