Bellator 58: Eddie Alvarez vs. Michael Chandler Fight Video
Bellator deserves credit for fully embracing using the internet to build their brand. Their YouTube account has been the place to go for their great "Bellator Moments" which highlight amazing finishes. Those moments have been somewhat common since the first season saw amazing knockouts and reverse triangle choke wins.
Last night Eddie Alvarez defended his lightweight title against Michael Chandler and the fight was so good that the entire thing deserved to be considered the "moment." Bellator agreed and put up the full fight.
This is must-watch stuff:
For all the love we gave UFC 139's main event between Dan Henderson and Mauricio "Shogun" Rua, this is every bit as good of a fight and one that we should all be talking about for a long time.
Again, massive credit to Bellator for not hiding their fights away but making sure that they get out there for as many people to see as possible.

Great fight but
Putting it in the same universe with the Hendo Shogun fight is insane.

this so very much
Nowhere near the relevancy for starters. Great fight, but doesn’t have anything to do with the war that Hollywood and Shogun waged last night.

the only difference between this fight and Hendo-Shogun is name recognition and exposure, “being it was in the ufc”, this fight was more technical, competitive and fast paced. Hendo-Shogun was an amazing display of heart, but it was a brawl with Henderson deciding what he wanted to do for the fights 3 rounds before gassing and hold on until the end of the fifth.
I will respectfully disagree
and you yourself said why. It was an amazing display of heart, greater than this. It isn’t merely name recognition, it’s two legends of the sport, including an arguable G.O.A.T. compared to an overrated fighter and a prospect.

Thanks for the link
I agree that the hendo/shogun war was better, but this fight was nothing short of amazing as well . What a great night of fights. This is why I love this sport!
As long as Bellator continues to go head to head with the UFC...
…great fights are going to be totally glossed over in favor of the bigger stage. Bjorn being a damn fine businessman, he has to see that this is some terrible strategy.
MTV2 could easily move Bellator to a different night, or a different time, but by choosing not to they are sabotaging the ratings in a big way. I know this is old-hat stuff but it really becomes obvious when fights like this fly so far under the radar.

Awesome, awesome fight! Really surprised by Chandler, I don’t even remember his fights from the tournament he won, but man did he leave an impression here. I thought it would be another easy Alvarez decision going in.. that did not happen. Much respect to Chandler, great performance.
Also, great decision by Bellator to put up the whole fight on youtube so quickly. This should get a lot of viewers, and hopefully help them gain some new fans. Now they just need to get off Saturdays…

I agree there,
putting the fight on YT, in HD, is SUCH a smart move.
People pay to see the fights LIVE. After a fight has already happened, the incentive to pay for it is almost completely gone.

Yeah, exactly, that is it. Really smart business decision here. I also like how they will put up highlights and stuff from every event, that has to help them get more attention. It’s a bit of a shame that so few people are actually watching their events live, but again their decision to air on saturdays is just too poor.

I would watch Bellator
but comcast doesn’t carry MTV2 on it’s basic package. Why the fuck such a high quality live sporting event is buried on MTV2 is beyond me… I used to watch every BFC event when it was on FSN
