Oh, totally

A two time, two division champion and an all-around legend have no right to be lumped in with Vera’s “wasted potential”.

Based on the title of this article I will not be reading it. A good deal of the writing on this website is totally negative towards fighters. I won’t be coming back. Feel free to ban my account.

Ha!

I find it funny that he used an article from a different website, to mock the writing on this one.

Its a true, nice article. Penn and Vera were two of my favorites but facts don't lie.

Penn is the epitome of wasted potential. Unreal flexibility, first non-Brazilian jiu-jutsu champ, and probably the best boxer in MMA. He refuses to train cardio and also refuses to submit people except as a last resort like Jens Pulver. Refuses to get a real camp. Only uses his BJJ to get back to standing even against wrestlers and therefore is not a weapon that anyone worries about because it is only defensive – making him one-dimensional.

Vera was always probably a little overrated but had the potential with a wrestling background, kickboxing, and a submission game. When you talk two weight classes, you should at least be in contention for one. BV treats every fight like a kickboxing contest, waiting for someone to wait and be shinkicked to death, and then inevitable spends the fight in the clinch or in his guard.

Not sure he likes the physicality and brutishness of MMA just like BJ. They want to be all technique and clean punching and kicking but real matches aren’t that way especially when someone knows the opponent knows they have that advantage.

Thoughts? "I have none. If there are any other developments, we will let you know." Charger GM - AJ Smith.
