Anthony "Rumble" Johnson tweets about the move to 185 for his UFC 142 bout with Vitor Belfort:
"Ppl question why the move to 185? 1st its a challenge, 2nd because I want to, 3rd why not? What is life without challenges and trying something new? Life would be boring then!!! 170 is Still my home."

doesn't want to cut the weight
don’t blame him. Weird when he’s coming off a big win though.

Rumble making WW was what I’d call a challenge…

ugg its that last part that bothers me.
I have nothing wrong with him moving up to 185, in fact i encourage it, but don’t do it just for 1 fight. If you’re going to move up commit to it. If he moves up beats Vitor and just moves back down, all he’s doing is taking out a top contender in the 185 division and leaving which i don’t like.
and in the other end of the spectrum
if Vitor puts his lights out…
…what was the point?

Want to see him fight Shields next
if Shields gets a win.

He says that now because he hasn't fought yet
If he beats Vitor there is no way he returns to 170 right away
If he loses then yeah he’ll be back at 170 in no time
I agree it’s stupid, but it also lets the UFC give perennial UFC favorite Vitor Belfort an easier fight. Also, since Johnson will likely drop back to 170 after this, it will prevent the rest of the MW division from beating up on Johnson and undermining Johnson’s credibility as a legitimate win/challenge for Belfort.

Rogan: "Uh, that's Japanese, brotha."
Goldberg: "Is it? I should've known that."
Rogan: "You're the one married to a Japanese chick."
Goldberg: "That is correct."

20% for a professional fighter?
Yes. Yes it is. Once is too much.

HE WAS JAUNDICE last time he tried to cut weight. After his fight with Brenneman his eyes were yellow. He literally looked like a homeless alcoholic. The cuts are either reducing his life span or significantly reducing his future quality of life.

losing 30 pounds in a day just seems really unhealthy
weight cutting is getting too ridiculous nowadays
I think Rumble KOs Belfort in the 1st

I find it interesting that Anthony Johnson announces a 1-fight trip to MW....
….the same week that the McRib drops.
That’s a simple coincidence, right?

I expect 185 is a better home for AJ, since I’m pretty sure I can see his pancreas when he’s on weight at 170.
But Vitor is a ridiculous first fight for anyone entering that division. Right Rich?

yeah, i guess the weight class thing isn't accurate
but what really stood out about it was an excellent fighter getting the shit beaten out of him.

Rich got caught early...
it was one of those anticlimactic match ups that ended far to early due to a quick KO.
If Johnson hangs with Vitor, win or lose, as long as it’s longer than Rich, doesn’t equate to Johnson being greater or equal to Rich. Does that make any sense?
