BJ Penn is a 7 minute BEAST.....
Penn came in saturday against Diaz and had him confused for the first round with fast punches, grappling and supior fighting abilities.
Then, after about 7 minutes into the fight, penn tires out sooner than expected and just begins to take dozens and dozens of shots from Nate. The fight goes into the third round and everybody new the outcome was gonna be a 29-28 decision. Props to Daiz for his win, his toughness, and hardwork.
BJ said that he's retiring after the fight. If he is gonna show up out of shape and get tired in the 2nd round against top competion then he might as well retire. I'm just tired of seeing him lose to people that he can beat simply because he gets tired too early in fights.
I truly believe that if BJ was in shape, he would've defeated Nick Diaz in that fight. Everybody Loves BJ becuase we see his Massive Potential in his fights.
So, should BJ go back to Lightweight? It doesn't matter because he can compete against the best in both weight classes. We saw this against John Fitch the #2-3 Welterweight in the world. If NIck Diaz would've fought against Fitch, then I don't think Diaz could've done what BJ did to Fitch; Diaz would've been on his back in the 1st, 2nd, & 3rd rounds. IMO
I was deep down hoping for BJ to win and get a 3rd fight with GSP, and see what he would change up in his game plan this time around. Very interesting. (considering what he did to Fitch instead of just trying to knock him out this time.)
Get In Shape HOMIE.........
