UFC 139 Results: Martin Kampmann Edges Rick Story with Split Decision Victory

Stay connected for news and updates

Martin Kampmann defeated Rick Story by split decision tonight at UFC 139. The judges scored the fight 30-27, 29-28, 28-29. Martin Kampmann has been the victim of some questionable decisions in his losses to Diego Sanchez and Jake Shields. Story entered the fight after dropping a loss to Charlie Brenneman at UFC Live: Kongo vs Barry.

The first round was all Rick Story who came out like a ball of fire landing big body shots and short hooks to the head. Martin Kampmann was able to open up a cut over Story's eye early on and Rick gave Martin his own cut soon after. The first round was clearly Rick Story's round based on damage and offense.

In the second Martin Kampmann settled into his range landing several big knees and elbows. He had Story bleeding profusely after working him on the ground and inside the clinch. The third round appeared to be Rick Story's but the commentary of Rogan and Goldberg were bias towards Kampmann.

It was a much needed win for Kampmann who is now 9-4 in the UFC. Rick Story drops his UFC record to 6-3.
