Anderson Silva Still Upset With Ed Soares, No Date For Sonnen Fight

Anderson Silva was at a NASCAR event this weekend and SB Nation NASCAR editor Jeff Gluck was able to get a few interesting comments from the UFC middleweight champion. Silva said that there is still no date for a rematch with Chael Sonnen but that he was leaving it up to the UFC and Dana White to figure that all out.
Perhaps most interesting though is that Silva is still saying, in no uncertain terms, that he is very upset with manager Ed Soares for a recent picture with Sonnen where the two appeared to be joking around.
"It's a problem," Silva told MMA Nation on Sunday at Phoenix International Raceway, where he was an honorary official for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race. "It's a big problem. I don't like the picture, I don't like the position my manager (was in). Big problem. I don't like it."
Soares has attempted to smooth over the details surrounding that picture, but the fact that this has been going on for several weeks now does not bode well for the future of the fighter/manager relationship.

This Is Very Petty
On Anderson’s part. The UFC is a business. Chael Sonnen is a businessman who by the end of his career will probably have increased his net worth by close to 7 figures. He will have also clearly increased Anderson Silva’s net worth by well over 7 figures. Ed Soares job as Anderson’s manager is to make him the most money as possible. If Anderson can not see that Chael Sonnen has been and will be one of the greatest things to ever happen to Anderson Silva. Batman would not be half of the character without the Joker. As Anderson has time and again refused to engage the fans in any manner at all not to mention refused to engage his opponent in the octagon time and again. He needed someone to step up and carry his amazing skill set with some sort of character interest for the fans. The simple question that needs to be posed to Anderson is would you rather make millions of extra dollars, or hold a personal grudge against a man who is so clearly playing a character that a child could see it. My final thought on the situation is that it is very unprofessional for Anderson to take to public forum to air his dirty laundry with his own manager. It makes Anderson look very childish not to mention the entire blackhouse team. Grow up Anderson, this is a business where everyone around you is working hard to get you into the biggest money fights possible even as you continually resist.
I thought they looked like they were arguing.
Or at least Ed was, and Chael was like ‘watch out for this guy’.

I thought it was fairly common knowledge that Chael and Soares are friendly with one another. Either Anderson is trying to be a showman and add further intrigue to the inevitable rematch or showing once more that he is one of the most immature and thin skinned people in all of MMA. I lean towards the latter.
