UFC 143 already has a plethora of sick matchups, and you can now add another one to that. In what might turn out to be a number one contender's bout at featherweight, Erik Koch will face off with Dustin Poirier in a great battle of elite prospects. The UFC tweeted confirmation of the bout earlier:
Both men are WEC veterans and are each on four-fight winning streaks. Poirier started off at lightweight in the WEC, but dropped to 145 after he moved over to the UFC. He has won all three of his bouts in the UFC, most recently finishing Pablo Garza at last weekend's UFC on Fox card. Koch has won both of his UFC bouts, and won a $70,000 knockout of the night bonus for finishing Raphael Assuncao at UFC 128.
