The UFC's Canadian office has released statements saying that they are planning on hosting 3 UFC events in 2012.
Both Montreal and Toronto have been guaranteed one show each. Meanwhile the UFC has announced that they wont be returning to Vancouver in 2012 due to B.C's unwillingness to support local MMA. That leaves one spot open, and another new Canadian option. Some ideas would be to hold a free card in the Maritimes, or a card in Winnipeg perhaps. But here are some facts to consider.
Calgary is the UFC's largest Canadian market that has yet to hold an event.
the Saddledome stadium seats approx. 17 000
the Calgary Stampede is one of Canada's largest yearly festivals, attracting over 1 million people in just 10 days last year. 2012 will be the stampedes 100th aniversary.
Its a no brainer.host an event during the time of the stampede and co promote. BIG BUCKS!
