Having watched Forrest Griffin since his early days on season 1 of Ultimate Fighter, Forrest has come off as a bit of a clown but a pretty nice and likeable guy, However, he apparently caused quite a stink with his recent tweet where he decried "Rape is the new missionary".
In light of the criticism, Forrest has manned up and made a donation to the Las Vegas Rape Crisis Center.
My question is:who is in the wrong? Forrest, who was simply commenting on the many high-profile rape cases that have been on the news recently, or those who were offended by his social commentary?
Sure, Forrest may have posted his tweet without any earlier related commentary, but considering the randomness of social media such as Twitter, was it necessary to explain himself before posting his tweet?
Forrest is simply the victim of being heard by a small group of overly-sensitive people. For these people, freedom of speech is only okay as long as it follows their small set of rules for decency.
God Bless America.
