With Claude Patrick pulled from his UFC 140 bout with Rich Attonito to face Brian Ebersole instead after an injury to Rory MacDonald, the UFC was in need of a new opponent for Attonito in Toronto next month, and now they have one: Missouri-based fighter, Jake Hecht. MMA Weekly has the report:
Sources close to the match-up confirmed the new fight booking with MMAWeekly.com on Thursday. MMAJunkie.com initially reported the switch.
Hecht, along with former UFC welterweight Brian Foster, is trained by Marc Fiore, a long-time associate of Matt Hughes. The 10-2 newcomer has won his last three fights and has competed mainly on the midwestern regional scene. Attonito made the cut down to welterweight for the first time in June, and he was successful in a one-sided decision win over Daniel Roberts. Hecht has mainly competed at 185 lbs, so both men should be rather sizable welterweights.
Jake "Hitman" Hecht (10-2)
Win Michele Verginelli (unam. decision) - CWFC Fight Night 1
Win Craig White (submission - north/south choke) - CWFC 42
Win Eddie Larea (TKO) - PCL Cage Madness
