The Nevada State Athletic Commission released the list of medical suspension from last weekend's UFC 137 card, and there weren't many major surprises. Both Brandon Vera and Bart Palaszewski have been suspended for up to six months for their injuries, but both of them had already talked about how they got hurt.Main event fighter B.J. Penn also got a longer suspension than most, totaling 45-60 days. Other than that, it was just a bunch of guys getting 21-to-45 day suspensions. Here's the whole list:
Nick Diaz – Suspended until Nov. 29 with no contact prior to Nov. 20.
BJ Penn – Suspended until Dec. 29 with no contact prior to Dec. 14.
Matt Mitrione – Suspended until Dec. 14 with no contact prior to Nov. 29.
Mirko Filipovic – Suspended until Dec. 14 with no contact prior to Nov. 29.
George Roop – Suspended until Dec. 14 with no contact prior to Nov. 29.
Tyson Griffin – Suspended until Dec. 14 with no contact prior to Nov. 29.
Bart Palaszewski – Must have right hand x-rayed. If positive, he must then get clearance from an orthopedic doctor. He faces a minimum suspension until Dec. 14 with no contact prior to Nov. 29.
Brandon Vera – Must have left elbow torn ligament injury cleared by orthopedic doctor or no contest until April 28, 2012. He faces a minimum suspension until Dec. 14 with no contact prior to Nov. 29.
Danny Downes – Suspended until Nov. 29 with no contact prior to Nov. 20.
