UFC 136 Results: Jose Aldo Decisions Kenny Florian
Jose Aldo looked to continue his quest to be recognized as one of the top pound-for-pound fighters in the world as he took on UFC veteran Kenny Florian at UFC 136. Aldo's featherweight title was on the line as Florian attempted to do what he was unable to do at lightweight and become a champion.
Florian was aggressive in the opening frame, using takedown attempts and kicks to throw off Aldo and force him out of his game. Aldo was able to figure out Florian's style after a single round, adapting and picking his shots carefully and landing pretty much every meaningful strike from rounds two until five.
Florian gave good effort all fight but Aldo's use of the leg kick and two punch combinations left Florian unable to really get any offense off aside from the occasional moment of pushing Aldo into the cage.
This likely represents the last time we see Florian get a title shot in the UFC as he is now 0-3 in his attempts to win gold and for Aldo he continues to make a case as one of the best in the world.

I wonder if Kenny may retire
Mid-30’s, probably achieved all he’s going to achieve, should have collected a good sum of money, will have a job with the UFC as an analyst and commentator if he wants it.

Bit less exciting than I'm used to with Aldo but easy win nonetheless.
Felt like K-Flo was really outmuscling him against the cage but Aldo dealt with it well. Not sure he’d do well at 155 though against guys like Maynard unless he really bulks up. I see him staying at 145 for now, hopefully a catchweight dream-fight against Edgar eventually.
even though he lost, fantastic performance
by florian. In fighting the champ 10 years younger, he never really got rocked by aldo, escaped his full mount twice, and stayed strong till the end. He could end is career in that division and go out a dominant force.

Found this fight very dull
An awful lot of uneventful clinching
Very impressed with Kenny’s defensive guard though
