Have you ever predicted every winner on an entire card and thought to yourself, "Why don't I just quit my job and bet on fights for a consistent source of income?" If so, you probably have a gambling addiction and should go here: http://www.helpguide.org/mental/gambling_addiction.htm ...I think mmalogic created the web site after losing 18K to an offshore bookie, but that's neither here nor there.
Anyways, I'm just interested to hear from the people who place bets; it can be those who use actual money like real adults participate in, or your fake monopoly playground wagers you piss down the virtual drain. Either way, everyone has their own strategies for success or failure, and I want to learn the secrets, so to speak.
Using tomorrow's event, for the first time I'm going to just bet small, equal amounts of money on every fighter I pick to win, on top of a parlay, and see how that works out (probably awful). But what do you do? Do you only bet when there's a huge underdog line on a guy you think can win? Are you one of the people who jumps on a line as soon as they're released to get the betting advantage? Or are you one of the not so savvy bettors who gamble on a fighter because you're a fan of his? I'm looking at you, Pride fanboys. Do you put up crazy 8-fight parlays, or place safe prop bets like Fitch going the distance? ...Or are you still reading this, even though you've never placed a bet in your life? The floor is yours, educate me. Or provide humorous animated gifs of kittens. Either/Or.
