I'm confident that Brock is just gonna lay on him until he either poiunds him out or submits him.
Alistair has never fought such a one-dimensional fighter before. Ever. Brock doesn’t punch well, or take a punch well, for that matter; has crap footwork, which means he sucks at anything other than bumrushing you; has crap cardio unless he’s leaning on you; but he’s has aces for wrestling and punching power if he’s leaning on you. Also, dood knows how to position himself on the ground.
Alistair would stand a better chance against Dos Santos than against one-dimensional Brock.

I think Brock's one dimension is grossly overrated
The perception of Brock’s game as nearly unstoppable is almost entirely based on what he did to Herring and Mir. Herring is a useless data point for multiple reasons, and Mir not only took himself to the ground in both fights, but had no desire or effort to get back to his feet (and he fought that way throughout his career).
Against a 46-year old, 50-lb lighter Couture, Brock had trouble getting him down and couldn’t even keep him down. Carwin shrugged off the TD attempt like it was nothing (until he gassed hard), and Cain got up easily after both TD. Moreover, it wasn’t Cain’s wrestling background, but rather his complete MMA skillset that did it. Overeem has a good sprawl.
Overeem will fight cautiously to prevent the takedown, just like he did against Werdum. Even then, he will land a few punches, as Brock can’t avoid a punch to save his life. Eventually, Reem will start backing Brock down and land something hard, and the fight will be over.

I don't think nothing would please me more then
For Overeem to come in and just get an absolutely scary knockout over Brock Lesnar.
I am a huge fan of Lesnar and Reem, and I loved the amount of attention Brock brought MMA.
But Overeem is fresh and just seems to have more upside and potential marketability at this point.
It would be a perfect coming out party for Overeem to be the ‘new guy’ that everyone is paying to see Brock fight…and for him to just come out and tool Brock would be awesome.
If he could get a straight out cold KO as opposed to a TKO, that would be huge and would really put him on the map in a bigger way.
Just imagining Lesnar coming out with his bum-rush ala the Cain fight, and Overeem perfectly timing a knee strike, and just flattening him…it would be insane.

That would be a great scenario.
Somehow I kinda like Lesnar after he mellowed down a bit, but I’m a bigger Overeem fanboy. The problem is for him to TKO/KO Lesnar he needs to stop Lesnar shooting the double leg – other possibilty would be to catch him immediately like you mentioned.
But I’m just not sure with The Reem. With whom is he training right now? What’s up with his wrestling training? I mean Lesnar trains with several big HWs that can wrestle, but the Reem? Also what is he doing to not gas again?
I really hope Overeem can pull it off, but I’m not sure he can stop Lesnar’s wrestling.
