UFC on FOX: Does MMA journalism need to improve?

I read an interesting blog post today by a blogger who got into an argument with Mike Chiappetta, the journalist who made the first report that Jon Jones vs Rashad Evans was going to be the main event for UFC 140. It brought to light something I haven't paid much attention to since the UFC announced it's partnership with FOX.  Since it's not on a big website, I wanted to link it so that you could all read it and post your thoughts.

I think that current mma journalists need to have better standards now that the UFC is going to be receiving the biggest push it has ever gotten into mainstream visibility.  I don't think casual fans and first-time mma viewers are going to appreciate frequently being fed false or unconfirmed reports of fights, only to get shot down after fans enthusiasm build up for them.
